Students of Nishtar Medical College can apply to one of several scholarships/loans.
Each of these scholarships/loans are administered and distributed by independent donors and groups and the applicant will need to satisfy the prerequisites associated with each scholarship.
Scholarships do not have to be returned but it is expected, that some day, when the recipient starts earning, he or she will pay forward and establish his or her own scholarship. Loans imply that the money will have to be returned, the process will be described in the application form.
As a general rule, private scholarships come with the condition that only ONE scholarship be availed at a time. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS.
This page also offers links to a few FOREIGN scholarships of US$5000/- only for those who have graduated from Nishtar Medical College and are successful in, or very hopeful of, securing a residency in the US (detailed conditions in forms).

| N-24 Shahid Ishaque Scholarship | 5 scholarships offered to first year students. Funds will continue till the graduation of the recipient and will include college and hostel fee and a personal pocket money. Limited to students of Nishtar Medical College. US Dollar Loan for residency in the US. 5000 US$ | These loan/scholarships will be named as follows.
These loan scholarships will cover airfare to the US. Any exam fees and fee of residency applications. Candidates will also be guided on how to write a personal essay and how to interview. We will also help in getting US VISA for residency purposes. Once the candidate matches and starts residency program, he/she will have to repay 200 dollars a month till $5,000 is repaid in just over 2 years. The repaid loan will then go to other applicants down the road. These scholarships are only for students who have faced adversity in life and come from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background. | Candidates will be shortlisted by a committee comprising of local representatives nominated by the Principal Nishtar Medical College and a US committee comprising of Drs. Saeed Khan, Fawad and Aisha Zafar. The scholarships will be handled by Dr. Aisha Zafar from the US. Funding for both scholarships will come from Zafar Mir Foundation which will be managed by Dr. Aisha Zafar. Deadline is of March 15th for the applications.
